On a lighter note

I'm probably freaking everyone out a little with my sudden increase of blog spam. Truth is, I've been stuck at home most of the week while I have had fix it guys re doing our earthquake repairs , so I've actually had the forced time to sit here! Hurrah!

Today I went to work but finished a couple of hours early because of the most lame reason ever.....
So Gooseman could get to the new Xbox launch party at midnight. I'm not even kidding.
At least he took the boys with him I suppose.

My job has changed a bit. I'm working at a more high security place, quite a bit different in structure to the home I was working in for just girls.
I've already been there a few times, but now it will be regular. Felt a bit nervous this morning, new work colleagues and routines etc.

Tonight I came home starving, despite having had a quick dinner at work and am now deeply regretting scoffing down left over pizza and BBQ Shapes and beer...belch

I lost a bit of weight a month or so ago. I was eating very healthy, green smoothies  lots of veg, cut back on sugar and fat. But I went off track and it's creeping back, mostly in a gigantic muffin top above my pants.

I've started my Christmas shopping, I heard some lady in a shop exclaim that she finished hers yesterday. I'm always shopping right up to at least Christmas eve eve.
Every year.
I don't want to this year. I'll aim to have it all done by the time the younger kids finish primary school which is the 18th.

What to even buy 4 kids who don't play with toys anymore anyway!?!

We are going for practical stuff. Camping gear, sleeping bags etc

I thought it would be cool for number 2 son to have his own tent. He is constantly asking to camp out on the lawn during the summer but Gooseman has this tent that is older than me but still in pristine condition, because he is incredibly anal about sweeping it and folding it and putting it away after use immaculately every time.
And it is a super mission. So we pretty much hardly ever use it.

Second born son is a little too much like my side of the family.
My parents tent is the worst looking tent in the whole campsite, of  any campsite, every time.
It's on a severe lean because years ago when I was about 15 my Dad was putting it up on Christmas day. My Dad who unlike my Husband and first born son, doesn't read instruction manuals.

During this tent erection process he had a pole that was too big to fit where it was meant to go.
So out came the hacksaw.
And he made it fit.
The weird part was the tent packaging company hadnt made a mistake by putting an extra too long pole in  there, so we are forever shamed on family camping excursions as the wonky tent family. Nextdoor to Goosemans glorious hardly been used but older than me tent of wonder.

So we found a good tent online on one of those day sale sites, along with cool as head lights for real cheap as fun little stocking stuffers and I'm thinkg a wee family getaway is a must for us this year.

I'm severly regreting that 4th piece of pizza right now..

Off to find my pup and put ourselves to bed, I don't think I can wait up for my Xboxing party geeks.
